The action continued for many of our Fall teams as we headed into the holiday weekend in the final week before school started.
Our cheer team meet last week for an information meeting and to introduce our new coach Ms. Majstorivic. Tryouts begin on Wednesday, see This Week’s Events for more information.
Our cross country teams battled the humid conditions on Friday at the Bulldog Invited hosted at McCarty Park.
The boys’ varsity team had solid performances from their leading senior Hunter Turcin who had his second personal record (PR) in a row with a time of 19:31. Jake Unger continues to build on his base, running a respectful time of 20:23. Junior Pierce Shelvik’s time of 21:32 has shown great consistency from the previous week’s meet. Running a 22:14 in his first meet of the season showed that Kiontis Gallion will be working to improve.
In the JV race, Hunter Sherry showed vast improvement in running a time of 23:17. Angelo Rivera’s time of 23:40 and Ian Huber’s time of 23:43 stayed right with each other for most of the race. 30:26 was Nate Rapp’s time.
On the girls’ side, Julia Jarosz came in with a time of 24:54. In the JV race, Isabella Acre had a 12th place finish from with a time of 25:37 and Delaney Sherry had a 13th place spot to pace the Bulldogs. Rounding off other performances were Hannah Caswell in with a time of 30:36, Alysa Gonzales in with a time of 31:45, Alexis Griffin in with a time of 31:47, Bailey Leonard in with a time of 36:41, and Olivia Lopez in with a time of 37:39.

Our JV2 team traveled to Greenfield to take on the Hustlin’ Hawks. The Bulldog team composed of mostly ninth graders started strong with two defensive stops and an early score by Damani Nunn. As the game went on the Hawks gained momentum and took the victory over our Bulldogs 48-6.
The varsity team traveled to Wisconsin Lutheran College’s athletic complex to take on the Popes of Pius XI. The Bulldogs returned back to Central with a 14-6 victory. The Bulldogs were led by Darius Grice (140 rushing yards, 32 receiving yards), Brent Renfro (14 rushing yards, one touchdown), Xander Rodriguez (seven tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one interception) and Riley Whitted (72 rushing yards, one touchdown).

Our boys’ JV soccer team lost to Greendale on Monday 4-0. Playing well in that game were Gustavo Dominguez, Jorge Guzman and Ryan Jakubiak.
Our boys’ varsity team lost to Greendale on Monday and tied Greenfield 3-3 in a highly-entertaining game that saw the Bulldogs score first in the 35th. After some back and forth scoring, the Bulldogs capitalized with the game tieing goal in the 90th minute.
Playing well for the Bulldogs this week was Daniel Becerra, Sam Jorgenson, Diego Prado and Joe St. Louis.
Our girls’ swim team has yet to be in action. However, our girls continue their hard work in the pool during practice and are excited for their first competition against Milwaukee Lutheran. Stay tuned for more from our swimmers.
Our girls’ teams had the week off of competition and continued their hard work in practice. They look forward to beginning the Woodland Conference schedule this week with two dates against Woodland Conference foes.
The boys’ program got their first taste of game action at the Waukesha South Quad, finishing 2-2 on the day playing against Hamilton (Sussex), Heritage Christian and Waukesha South. Playing well for the Bulldogs were AJ LoCicero, Romero Marquez and Ryan Walters.
